Autumn Glory- A Garrett County Tradition

…right here in Garrett County! Autumn Glory started as the Turkey Festival and through the decades has turned into a festival that has topped national lists of “must do” events. The five day celebration starts on Wednesday with the Kick Off Dinner. On Thursday, the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department hosts the annual Fireman’s Parade, where bands, dance groups, cheerleaders, football players, cub scouts and more join fire rigs from all over the region to make a fun night. Friday has craft and vendor shows throughout the county and Oakland hosts Fallfest, which has family friendly events such as bounce houses, photo cut out opportunities, food trucks, and vendors throughout the downtown A&E district. Saturday is the Grand Feature Parade in Oakland. This is a stalwart of the festival and always brings huge crowds. Sunday has a car show in Oakland. The district is hopping during Autumn Glory!
